css margin left He immediately set to work with John Shirley to finish the work on the massive ironclad and make her ship-shape and in Bristol form. Together, they finished the C. S. S. Arkansas in June of 1862 and rendered it seaworthy in spite of the vessel's faulty engines. Mounting 10 guns and having armor as thick as four inches in some places, the C. S. S. Arkansas was a monster that struck pure fear into the hearts of Union naval commanders as they received reports of its construction through their intelligence network. Just how powerful this valiant ship was would be seen very soon by the sailors of the Union Navy who were tasked with blockading the Mississippi River and assisting the Federal Army in its advance on Vicksburg, Mississippi. As dawn broke on July 15, 1862, Lieutenant Issac Brown prepared his ship and its crew of 232 brave officers and men for a mission that would place them forever in the annals of military history.

To get going, you need only one thing (other than your software) - an image or graphic that you want to feature in the header of your site. I'll be using an image that I picked up on ClanTemplates. com in their Renders gallery. Part Two Block it Out Before we do anything else, we need to make a "sketch" of where we want to place the parts of our site. 1 Open a new canvas (File, New) sized about 550 x 500 pixels. It should be RGB color with a white background.

You simply have to insert particular CSS code into your HTML field. If the code is properly inserted, the cursor will be modified based on the conditions defined in the code. This tutorial will present examples of the different types or styles of cursors, along with code an instructions on how to customize your own cursor. Here are examples of the codes for creating a number of different cursor effects Default cursor default Crosshair cursor crosshair Hand cursor hand Pointer cursor pointer Move cursor move Text cursor text Help cursor help Wait cursor wait Resize north cursor n-resize Resize northeast cursor ne-resize Resize east cursor e-resize Resize southeast cursor se-resize Resize south cursor s-resize Resize southwest cursor sw-resize Resize west cursor w-resize Resize northwest cursor nw-resize Not allowed cursor not allowed All-scroll cursor all-scroll Using CSS to define your cursor style Image 1 *In order to change cursor style when it hovers over links, use the following code Replace value with the desired cursor effect. Image 2 *In order to change cursor style for the entire page, use the following code Replace value with the desired effect. Image 3 *In order to change the cursor style for certain areas of the page, use the following code Replace value with the desired effect. The mentioned examples provide the fundamentals of Cascade Style Sheets. Creating cursors is just one capability of CSS. In addition to this, Cascading Style Sheets allows users to store information that is used to define font, color, and layouts into one file, instead of having to create an HTML code for every instance it is needed. You can control the format of many documents with a single style sheet. This saves a whole bunch of time because you don't have to reenter a code every time you need a certain text effect.

The battle ended in a stalemate. The Virginia tried to engage the Monitor on several occasions later on, but neither ship engaged any ship after their first meeting. When the Union recaptured Norfolk, the Confederate navy ordered the Virginia to be destroyed to prevent it from falling into enemy hands. Though the meeting of the two ironclads ended in a stalemate, it was actually a victory for the Union army. It meant that the Confederacy would be unable to break the Union blockade, which it desperately needed to do to be able to export cotton to raise revenue. Thus, the Monitor's success at keeping the Virginia from being used effectively during the war probably shortened the course of the entire war. The CSS Cursor Introduction For the computer screen, the cursor is the mouse pointer. CSS allows you to give different shapes to this cursor. In this article, I give you the names of the different shapes, the descriptions of the shapes and code samples indicating how you can create them. CSS is now at version 2.
