The Google site didn't look like it was trying to sell anything (and it wasn't, at that point). The design quickly earned many fans.

Text Decoration Text Decoration deals with underlining of text, over-lining (opposite of underline) of text, drawing a line across text and making a text to blink. To achieve any of these options, you need the "text-decoration" property and any of the following values; each value gives its particular effect none Produces no text decoration; this is the same as in the case where the "text-decoration" property is absent. underline Each line of text in the element (containing element) is underlined overline Each line of text in the element (containing element) has a line above it. line-through Each line of text in the element (containing element) has a line through the middle blink Text in the element (containing element) blinks (alternates between visible and invisible). The following shows an underlining example for a SPAN element "http //www. w3. org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict. dtd"> div width 400px img position absolute; top 50px; left 50px; z-index 2 text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV DIV The element for absolute positioning is placed anywhere within the containing element in the code. The CSS rule determines its exact position within the containing element at the browser. It can also be outside the containing element if you use negative values for the top and left properties, but I will not talk about that. The Table Cell and Absolute Positioning The HTML table cell (TD element) behaves as a containing element in many ways, but it is not really a containing element.

image css Don't open internal links in a new window. It is annoying to have several windows open and no way to navigate back. Don't type more than a few words in all capitals. They lose their effectiveness if over done. Don't distract your visitors with blinking or scrolling text. You know how annoying some of those blinking ads are on the internet - why use them? Do make sure to include a menu on all pages. Breadcrumbs are useful too. Do use contrasting colors to make test easy to read. Do make the text large enough to read. I use 14 point at my website to help accommodate people with less than perfect eyesight. Do use descriptive link text.
